Hi – I’m Beth Lowell. I belong to two dogs named Dasher and Bella. I am an animal Reiki practitioner, and over the past eight years I’ve worked as a dog walker and petsitter. This seemingly humble calling has given me extraordinary rewards in the people and animals I’ve met and the friends I’ve made along the way.

Growing up, art was my passion. I studied at the Vesper George School of Art in Boston, MA and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating, I moved from Boston to New York permanently to pursue my artistic career but wound up spending many years in the corporate world working as an award winning writer instead.
When I lost my job after 9/11, I adopted Dasher. Jobs and dogwalkers were few and far between, so I started Good Girl Dog Walking and Pet Sitting. A year later, Bella arrived. The relationships with my own dogs and those that I developed with my many charges changed the way I viewed the world and the way I live in it. While we know our animal companions so well in some ways, they still remain a mystery in many others.
It was this fascination with the unknown and wanting to gain a closer connection with animals, that led me to learn the Japanese healing art of Reiki, which I have been practicing with animals since 2007. I also offer personalized Reiki training in all three levels for those who wish to learn how to bring balance into their lives and the lives of their loved ones – including animals, of course! My own dogs and all of the animals in my life inspired me to once again pick up my favorite tools: my paint brushes and my camera. I hope you’ll visit my Galleries to meet some of these mysterious and beautiful creatures.
