Love this post - could not agree more. The symbols, the superstition, the hype..it all fell away for me. It was great as a way to step into the energy but the energy - call it reiki, call it what you will - finds its own pure and simple way.

This is a great post. I find yoga, done with or without your canine companion, is a powerful tool for mantaining balance. Yoga is also a great way to cultivate "attention" and "intention" when communicating with dogs.

Very nice. I like the transparancy of the fur which adds depth plus the slight blue color. But the eyes are well drawn and looks directly at the viewer which adds an alternate appeal.

We lived in a house that had Chipmunks that had been welcomed in by previous owners. They had cut a hole in the wall to let them in. Blocking the hole just meant they found other ways in. The fix...Put in a hamster trail, from the original hole, that only allowed them into the cage. They could come in & visit yet, they couldn't get all over the house. Everyone was happy...except 1 dog that really wanted to eat them. LOL!

Hi Danielle,

Thanks for your reply. Spirulina does indeed have many benefits! This prepraration contains not only Spirulina, but a combination of the best and most beneficial algae on the planet. This combination halted cancer in lab animals - and later was reformulated into a human version as well that halted a pancreatic cancer epidemic in one family.

In combination, the four algae have a greater positive impact on the body's ability to function than do single species although they are also beneficial as you have seen. You can read about that here: http://www.optimumchoices.com/BioSuperfood-Algae-Spirulina.htm

Also, you're right - the source is very important. Since virtually no waters of the earth are unpolluted, these algae are grown hydroponically in closed bio-reactors in the pristine environment of Siberia.

Hi Beth! My cats receive dry spirulina (one type of algae) often as well as Amazon Herb's Aquazon powder which contains a mix of fresh and salt water algae. They all eat it fine sprinkled on dry food or mixed with canned.

My holistic vet actually recommended the spirulina for 1 cat in part b/c of it's benefit in dealing with allergies and I HAVE seen great benefits with this alone used in a separate cat who had a once time overgrooming occurance to the point of balding himself due to a random unknown allergic reaction (not fleas). He did need to have a few weeks of the spirulina daily for it to kick in but it worked amazingly and we avoided the cortisone shot.

I have heard it's important to know your source of algae as they can readily pick up toxic metals from the waters they're grown in. Thanks for writing about this! I may look into it!

Hi Beth, I agree about Algae as a superfood. I, AND my lab have been taking a liquid aloe vera and sea vegetable whole food supplement for years now. I drink 8 ounces a day and Beau gets 4 ounces a day. Beau is pushing 14 but still has the energy and vitality to chase away the unwanted critters around the property. Sea vegetables are considered an Algea and are one of the most nutritive dense foods on the planet. The minerals that are missing in our foods are still abundant in these plants.
I have some info aboit these plants and about the supplement Beau and I take on my Blog www.johnslfi.wordpress.com
Check it out and tell me what you think,
be well,
John
